Home & Away: For the base uniforms I wanted something that mixed modern and traditional design elements, though, ultimately, it leans more modern (sans crazy piping). One thing you might notice right off the bat (if you're a hockey or uniform design fan) is that the primary blue jersey does not feature gold/yellow numbers on the back and sleeves. An interesting fact about the Blues is that every single blue jersey they've ever worn in their history (with the exception of their current alternate jersey) has featured gold/yellow numbering. While that does work with most of their original uniforms, I felt that since the concepts I am presenting to you (and their uniforms over the past 15 years) feature far less gold/yellow in the designs that it would be aesthetically nonsensical to use gold/yellow numbers.
Alternate: With this uniform I wanted to pay homage to the Blues design introduced in 1995 that featured a striping design meant to mimic the lines of a musical staff. While the Blues '95 design was somewhat more modern (slanted striping and a red/blue/yellow color scheme) I wanted to preserve the idea of the design while creating a cleaner and more traditional look.
Have a look and be sure to rate the set and leave some comments. Thanks.
