Post #89 - Dallas Stars "Home on the Range"

Another week, another set of jerseys. This time it's the Dallas Stars.

YouTube

Home, Away & Third: You will love it or hate it, but one of the biggest features of these three jerseys is the fact that the color sequence on the logos perfectly matches that of the sleeve and hem stripes. I think the home and away are sharp and classy and while the yellow is something you probably wouldn't want to see game in and game out, it's actually not all that bad looking, especially as a third.

Alternate: The first alternate is a modernized throwback to the classic star-design jerseys. What will probably stand out the most is the removal of a traditional logo in lieu of a wordmark and number. This is a reference to the much-maligned early Reebok-era Stars' jerseys, though I think it works incredibly well on this design. Look closer and you'll notice a subtle star behind the number on the chest. The lower half of the torso and sleeves also features a textured pattern that darkens the green just a bit to give the jersey slight contrast.

Alternate: Return of the Mooterus!!! I absolutely hate the black and neon Stars jerseys, but I wanted to try my hand at combining the obnoxious neon green with one of the most hated logos in NHL history. This jersey is wild, off the wall and nowhere in the realm of traditional, but the tri-tone green and futuristic design... somehow... works. No lie, if this was a real jersey I would buy it without hesitation just for the novelty of it.

Alternate: Finally, after a trip into the bizarre and outlandish, we crash back to Earth with a faux-back traditional-style jersey. The "D-STARS" logo is edited to fit perfectly as a chest-striped style design and even more interesting, but impossible to really take not of, is the shoulder logo. It's the Stars' Texas logo, modified to have a stitching pattern that resembles the Texas state flag, and, if you look closely, the textured pattern looks like a dry river bed.
